Chemical Agents

Chemical agents, including pepper spray and tear gas, are valuable tools for self-defense and crowd control when used appropriately. This course provides training on the legal aspects of carrying and deploying chemical agents, their physiological effects, and proper handling techniques. Participants will learn about different types of chemical sprays, storage and disposal requirements, and best practices for minimizing risks. The course also covers liability concerns, defensive use strategies, and first-aid procedures in cases of exposure.

• Criminal and civil liabilities associated with misuse

Chemical Properties & Effects

• Differences between Mace, tear gas, and pepper spray (OC)

• Risks and safety considerations for security officers

Storage, Maintenance & Disposal

• Proper handling and storage of chemical agents
• Inspection, expiration dates, and canister maintenance
• Safe disposal practices to prevent contamination

Deployment & Defensive Use

• Strategies for carrying and using chemical agents effectively
• Target areas for maximum effectiveness in self-defense
• Responding to exposure and administering first-aid
