Employer Policies & Orientation

Security personnel must be familiar with employer policies, professional expectations, and administrative procedures. This course provides an overview of workplace policies, documentation requirements, and reporting protocols. Participants will learn about security logs, report writing, uniform and appearance guidelines, and the importance of maintaining professional conduct. The course also covers attendance policies, overtime regulations, and key responsibilities related to communication, emergency response, and employer compliance.

Participants will be provided with an understanding of the following:

Security Reports & Logs

• Proper documentation of shifts, duties, and incidents
• Maintaining accurate records for client and legal purposes
• Key log entries, including visitor tracking and equipment use

Workplace Policies & Conduct

• Employer expectations for attendance, scheduling, and overtime
• Uniform regulations, appearance guidelines, and professional demeanor
• Prohibited conduct, including insubordination, fraternization, and security breaches

Emergency Response & Communication

• Procedures for reporting incidents to employers and clients
• Handling workplace emergencies, law enforcement interactions, and union activity
• Communication protocols, including radio, telephone, and report submission

Compliance & Liability Awareness

• Understanding employer liability and legal responsibilities
• Adhering to policies regarding drug use, harassment, and confidentiality
• Policies on workplace safety, including vehicle use and firearm regulations
